Weston Fisher

A veteran of more than 30 years in natural resource policy, planning, and management, Wes helps our clients achieve extraordinary results in designing, assessing, and overseeing environmental programs.

The recipient of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) Award for Outstanding Service, Wes has helped NGOs engaged in on-the-ground ESDM development, multilateral development institutions, official development agencies, international governments, and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) achieve extraordinary results. He is also a talented trainer and facilitator, and has run Environmentally Sound Design and Management (ESDM) training courses in 21 countries across five continents.

Previously, Wes was a Senior Research Director at the Tellus Institute, USAID’s Regional Energy Advisor for East and Southern Africa, and the Africa Bureau’s Energy Advisor. He directed the Missouri Energy Agency, worked for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and served as a Peace Corps Biology and Science teacher in Uganda.

Wes recently served as the Interim Executive Director of the IAIA, Chair of IAIA’s Board Nominations Committee and Co-chair of its Climate Change Section. He was a key organizer of two IAIA symposia on Climate Change and Impact Assessment held in Washington, D.C. and Aalborg, Denmark, and was the Program Committee Co-Chair for IAIA in Boston.

He holds a master’s in geology from Stanford University and two bachelor’s degrees, also from Stanford.
