Sonia Checchia

Sonia Checchia is a senior specialist with more than 20 years of professional experience in strategic communications and change management. A strong writer with an eye for design, she is able to communicate visually and verbally to ensure her clients’ most important messages are heard. She has particular expertise with information technology communications and corporate people programs, including leadership and career development and diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

In her current role with Cadmus’ strategy and transformation service area, Sonia supports stakeholder engagement and communications for two Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Information Technology programs. Sonia has a varied background in a variety of professional settings, including government, management consulting, higher education, and nonprofit organizations. She has a keen understanding of organizational culture and strives to tailor her work to meet the needs of the client while reaching and connecting with the stakeholder group(s). 

She holds a master’s degree in sociolinguistics from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in international studies from American University.
