Shari Ring
Technical Director
Shari lead Cadmus’ Underground Injection Control (UIC) team. She has supported every regulatory initiative of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s UIC Program for the past two decades, including rules for Class I, Class V, and Class VI injection wells. She contributed to significant analyses of injection technology including EPA’s Study for Congress on Risks Associated with Class I Injection Wells, Hydraulic Fracturing for Oil and Gas: Impacts from the Hydraulic Fracturing Water Cycle on Drinking Water Resources in the United States, and the Report of the Interagency Task Force on Carbon Capture and Storage, delivered to President Obama in 2010. Her experience helps clients achieve extraordinary results in reducing greenhouse gas emissions via geologic sequestration and understanding the impacts of hydraulic fracturing technology.
She is involved in every aspect of the regulatory development process, from performing technical research, to evaluating UIC permit applications, to leading outreach and educational efforts. Her work has been delivered to leaders at all levels, including Congress and the President, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Ground Water Protection Council, the American Geophysical Union, and the International Energy Agency Well Bore Integrity Network.
Shari holds a bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences from Pennsylvania State University.
