Christina Clark-Lowes

Technical Director

Christina Clark-Lowes has more than a decade of experience in investment, private sector development, investment promotion, market systems development, and small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) support. As the Cadmus UK investment practice lead, she provides strategic and technical support to economic growth projects from design to evaluation.

Currently, Christina serves as the investment lead of the Invest Salone project in Sierra Leone, overseeing various investment-related initiatives. She played a key role in structuring Sierra Leone’s first-ever corporate bond, designing an innovative working capital facility, promoting climate finance investments, and conducting impact investor outreach in fragile states and least developed countries.

Previously, as the Project Director of the MarketConnect project in Zambia, Christina led the project’s strategic and technical direction. She pioneered the use of royalty payments by SMEs in East Africa, helping them become more competitive and attractive to investors by improving their profitability and linking them to new buyers on different scales.

Between 2016 and 2022, Christina provided technical and strategic support to the Land Investment for Transformation (LIFT) program in Ethiopia. Her work focused on leveraging increased tenure security to drive investments in rural areas. She supported interventions such as access to finance, crop insurance products, establishment of a transparent rural land rental market, and commercially driven agricultural input markets. Additionally, she contributed to policy changes enabling rural smallholder farmers to use their land as collateral.
