Brent Ranalli

Brent Ranalli is a policy professional with 20 years of experience performing research, analysis, and program support for public sector clients. At Cadmus, he leads support for the U.S. EPA’s Regulatory Determinations program for emerging drinking water contaminants, EPA’s Water Contaminant Information Tool, and state and federal Environmental Results Program initiatives. In 2020, he managed a nationwide survey of drinking water and wastewater utilities to inform EPA and stakeholders about how the COVID-19 pandemic was affecting the water sector.

Mr. Ranalli is a thought leader on the topic of sharing wealth from natural resources and other commons. His research has been presented at North American Basic Income Guarantee (NABIG) Congresses and at conferences of the Sustainable Consumption Research and Action Initiative (SCORAI), the Kelso Institute for the Study of Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing at Rutgers University, and the Institute for Thomas Paine Studies at Iona College, and his writing on the topic has appeared in Basic Income Studies and at TheGlobalist.com, among other venues. Common Wealth Dividends: History and Theory is his first full-length book on the subject. A ten-minute overview of the book, as presented at a seminar of the Ronin Institute, is available on YouTube.

Mr. Ranalli earned his master’s degree in environmental science and policy from the Central European University and his bachelor’s in history and science from Harvard. He is a trustee of Feasta, an Ireland-based sustainability think tank, and he serves on the advisory board of World Basic Income. He is a former instructor in Environmental and Public Health at Boston College.
