Melissa Deas Joins Cadmus as Technical Director
Cadmus grows its leadership team focused on Equitable and Resilient Communities
ARLINGTON, VA., August 23, 2024—Cadmus, a leading provider of technical and strategic expertise to governments, energy utilities, and private sector companies worldwide, announced that Melissa Deas has joined the firm as technical director in Cadmus’ resilient infrastructure practice.
Deas is a nationally recognized leader with extensive experience in climate resilience policy, planning, and execution, focusing on safe and equitable communities. At Cadmus, Deas will continue her impactful work in those areas, including helping clients deliver place-based assistance building the capacity of underserved communities to access and manage federal grants.
Prior to joining Cadmus, Deas served as the District of Columbia’s Chief Resilience Officer, where she proactively implemented policies to ensure the District could thrive in the face of climate change, economic inequality, advancements in technology, and a changing health landscape. During her career, Deas has overseen emergency management operations, managed $100 million in grants, and authored the District’s Keep Cool DC extreme heat mitigation strategy.
