Cadmus Achieves Gold Certification from Portland Sustainability at Work Program
PORTLAND, Ore., April 26, 2018—Cadmus, a leading consultancy in areas from energy, water, and transportation to safety, security, and resilience, has achieved gold certification from the City of Portland Sustainability at Work program—the highest level of certification recognized by the program.
Sustainability at Work offers three levels of certification to recognize local businesses’ positive impact on the environment and community. Participating companies achieve certification by meeting a number of requirements set forth by Sustainability at Work to measure a company’s performance regarding water and energy use, reduce/reuse/recycling practices, transportation habits, and community and employee engagement.
Cadmus’ Portland office implements sustainability measures that Cadmus makes available to employees nationwide. These include:
- Providing up to $160 in reimbursement each month to any employee who purchases a public transportation pass
- Offering a bike subsidy of $100 per employee annually for the purchase of a bicycle or cycling-related expenses
- Secure, on-site bike lockers and showers for bicycle commuters
- LEED (CI) – Gold certification for Portland office space
- Purchasing energy from renewable sources equal to 100% of electricity consumption
“Cadmus’ work in support of our clients and our own principles are firmly aligned with Portland’s commitment to sustainability and resilience,” said Cadmus president and CEO Ian Kline. “We’re honored and excited to achieve this designation from the Sustainability at Work program—particularly during Earth Week.”
