Reflections on International Women’s Day from President and CEO Ian Kline
Every March on International Women’s Day, the world observes the inspiring accomplishments of women across the globe and renews commitments to gender equality. This year’s theme, “Invest in women: Accelerate progress” outlined by UN Women, underscores the need for global leaders and decision-makers to enact meaningful change. It serves as a reminder that women still face pervasive inequalities which exact a high toll on their personal opportunities, socioeconomic empowerment, and overall well-being.
Failing to invest in women and girls not only affects their ability to fulfill their potential; it also incurs a significant societal and economic cost. As a consultancy focused on strengthening society and the natural world, we see evidence every day that empowering women positively impacts outcomes for everyone. When Nathan Associates became part of Cadmus last year, we leveled up our capacity to enact change, significantly increasing our experience and expertise in the critical domains necessary to advance gender equality while pursuing an inclusive, green economy and care society that expand opportunities for women.
In every endeavor we take on at Cadmus, we aim for the outcome that lifts up as many people as possible. We’re guided by a set of values that establish mutual respect and shared success as prerequisites to any undertaking—within our own organization and in support of our clients’ missions. These values define a culture where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their aspirations while embracing our collective responsibility to facilitate growth for others.
Global gender equality is a non-negotiable priority that requires commitment from every segment of society. This International Women’s Day, we are proud to share a selection of highlights that demonstrate how Cadmus helps governments, organizations, and communities work toward a future where women’s equality and all the societal benefits that depend on it are realized.
